HISTORICAL CENTRE

The sestieri are the primary traditional divisions of Venice. The city is divided into the six districts of Cannaregio, San Polo, Dorsoduro (including the Giudecca), Santa Croce, San Marco and Castello (including San Pietro di Castello and Santa Elena).

The center can be considered Plaza St. Mark, for definition only plaza of the city (the other ones are denominate Fields), one of the most beautiful to the world, where the homonym basilica, the Ducal Building and the historical bell tower are found. Another symbol of the city is the Bridge of Rise on which you/they lean out the characteristics shops.

You can be accessed the Historical Center in Venice in two ways: by earth with the bridge translagunare or by water with the services of public vaporetto. In case of arrival away earth with railway or auto line, from the two terminals respectively of Saint Lucy and of Square Rome.
